Sara's interview

Sara's Interview with Andy McCluskey

The following are the answers to a questionaire that a young lady over in the U.K. named Sara Goodyear sent to Andy McCluskey. Andy obliged by filling out the questionaire and sending it it back to her. Sara was kind enough to send the questions and answers to me to post here on my web page for the world to see.

Sara: If it were possible, how much would you pay for Louise Brooks to be re-incarnated?

I'm not sure that I would have liked to actually meet Louise Brooks. I know how willful and difficult she was all her life. Meeting people that fascinate you often just dissapoints. However, I did pay $50 for a signed photogrph of her.

Sara: What aftershave do you wear?

Kouros

Sara: If you had a pet chicken, what would you call it and why?

It would be nice to have some chickens in the garden. I'd have to call the first one Doris. It's the band's per name of woman (like Australians say Sheila.)

Sara: How often do you wash your car?

Only when it's dirty

Sara: What shampoo do you use?

Body Shop. Why do all Body Shop hair products have banana in them? I smell like Carmen Miranda's hat!

Sara: Are you left or right handed?

Right handed

Sara: Have you ever considered doing a concert in Guernsey?

No, sorry. We've never been asked. Do you think there are enough people to merit a concert?

Sara: What color are your eyes? In the "Messages" videos they look brown, but in the "Tesla Girls" video they look blue!

I call them mushy avocado. They are green and hazel

Sara: Can you possibly explain the "Talking Loud and Clear" video?

No, don't remind me. It was supposed to look like "Gone With the Wind" instead it looked like the Blue Peter version of "Wizard of Oz."

Sara: Are there any plans to release a promotional video for Sugar Tax?

Not at the moment

Sara: What is your favorite album you've recorded and why?

I honestly don't have a favorite because they all contain bits of me, my ideas, feelings and emotions. They are like children, youc an't pick a favorite.

Sara: What does "Bloc, Bloc, Bloc" mean?

The lyrics are a pure stream of consciousness. I don't know what to "Bloc" is.

Sara: Will the general public ever get to hear the song that is "Orchestral Manouevres in the Dark?"

It was an idea for a song, not actually a finished pice of music.

Sara: On the November newsheet you said you'd written a few songs for a new album, one of which is called "Christine." Who is "Christine?"

The Christine in the song is an invented character. The song is about someone who works in a strip club. I wrote the song before I met Christine Mellor (she sang "Neon Lights"), and now it's embarassing because people think it's about her.

What's your favorite type of car?

BMW 850I.S

Sara: What's your most treasured posession?

My own life

Sara: What color is your toothbrush?

Black

Sara: Do you play any sport, and if so what?

Swimming and squash

Sara: What were you favorite songs and albums of 1991?

Everything by "Army of Lovers", everything by the KLF, "Sit Down" by James.

Sara: What have you got O/A levels in?

Math, Art, Geography, English Language, English Literature, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History (A's) History, Geography, Art and General Studies.

Sara: Who taught you to play the guitar?

I taught myself, that's why I play so badly.

Sara: Do you still use "Winston", and if not, what happened to him?

Winston was owned by our first manger (Paul Collister.) When we parted company he took "Winston."

Sara: Where was the "Souvenir" video filmed?

Blenheim Palace Park and Stowe School.

Sara: What is your favorite color?

If I have one, black.

Sara: What size shoe do you take?

Ten and a half
